End of 2007 sales numbers are out for the gaming platforms and the results are not a big shock. 3.63 millions Wii's were sold, while "only" 1.21 million PS3's were purchased.
Does it have to do with the price? IMHO it is.

Those of you lucky enough to unwrap a Nintendo Wii this holiday season can now play all their digital music through the gaming device with new technology from MP3tunes -- http://www.mp3tunes.com. Developed by Rodney Powers for MP3tunes, owners of the Wii can now use the device's controller to wirelessly stream their personal music collections from their own Music Lockers. Music stored in MP3tunes Music Lockers can also be played on the Sony PlayStation 3, Windows Mobile devices, a variety of Internet radios and more, thanks to the MP3tunes open API (Application Programming Interface).

I have now finished my Top 5 Games of 2007 list. That's right, the official "Reverend Booyah's Top 5 of 2007" is now complete. Although most people won't agree with my list, I'm okay with that - it's my list!
I was pretty sure that was the reason too, but they've drawn it just as we all expected. Don't hold back the truth! (via The Joy of Tech)Ok, I admit this isn't game related - but it is entertainment related, which is related to video games, so I'm going to post it here anyway. I'm a big fan of the show "Journeyman" on NBC. And I just found out that they are cancelling it! That sucks hard!!! It's a great show. If you like the show (and even if you don't) you can help by telling NBC executives that they have their head up their you-know-whats, and that they should keep Journeyman alive. Save Journeyman has a website with information on what to do. (via Save Journeyman!)
Much like the author of the article (Mike Sylvester), I love my Wii. I love mine so much I don't mind that I paid a $50 premium to get my Wii a few weeks after it was released last year. But I also realize that it isn't the perfect gaming platform. Far from it... The article puts a top 10 list of the things that make the Wii less than perfect. (via Nintendo Wii Fan Boy) There's a new Duke Nukem Forever teaser/trailer available online today. It's the first Duke Nukem trailer in nearly 6 years. There's no official release date for the game (it's done "when it's done"), but so far it looks awesome. Although this is more of a "teaser" than a "trailer," and there doesn't appear to be any game-play video, it's still great to see a new Duke!

So, what was so great about this WiiGH3 on eBay? A father bought the game and guitar for his son as a Christmas present. Unfortunately, when dad found his son smoking pot in the backyard his punishment was swift and profitable... (via eBay) I found this great video of the correct methods for smack talking on Halo and XBox live. Most of these tips are also useful in other games. It's very nicely done in the style of those old-timey school films. With quotes like "When spawn camping always remember to invite friends!" it's a great watch.
The day is finally here, the Burnout Paradise Demo is now available on XBox Live and at the Playstation Store. At over 800MB, it's a pretty big download, but since most of us have a broadband connection, just let it start downloading, walk away, come back in 15 or 20 minutes and BOOYAH! You're now the proud "owner" of the single AND multiplayer demo.
Gaming Target has a very interesting and well written article about the big industry "merger", cleverly titled "Everything There is to Know About Activision, Sierra, Blizzard and the Merger." The article goes into the history of Activision, Sierra, and Blizzard and gives some great insight about why the merger took place and what could happen in the future. Go check it out!

In an interview with GameDaily Biz, Microsoft Xbox 360 V.P. of Global Marketing Jeff Bell announced that over one million copies of Mass Effect were sold in its first three weeks. That's more than triple what the industry "insiders" figured.
Well, it might not be that bad, but they're going to have to slow that burn rate!
