End of 2007 sales numbers are out for the gaming platforms and the results are not a big shock. 3.63 millions Wii's were sold, while "only" 1.21 million PS3's were purchased. Does it have to do with the price? IMHO it is.

Those of you lucky enough to unwrap a Nintendo Wii this holiday season can now play all their digital music through the gaming device with new technology from MP3tunes -- http://www.mp3tunes.com. Developed by Rodney Powers for MP3tunes, owners of the Wii can now use the device's controller to wirelessly stream their personal music collections from their own Music Lockers. Music stored in MP3tunes Music Lockers can also be played on the Sony PlayStation 3, Windows Mobile devices, a variety of Internet radios and more, thanks to the MP3tunes open API (Application Programming Interface).

Ok, I admit this isn't game related - but it is entertainment related, which is related to video games, so I'm going to post it here anyway. I'm a big fan of the show "Journeyman" on NBC. And I just found out that they are cancelling it! That sucks hard!!! It's a great show. If you like the show (and even if you don't) you can help by telling NBC executives that they have their head up their you-know-whats, and that they should keep Journeyman alive.  In a statement on their Rock Band community forums, Harmonix claims that even though they have developed a patch that will allow PS3 Guitar Hero controllers to work with Rock Band, Sony is refusing to release it due to complaints from Activision.

 In an interview with GameDaily Biz, Microsoft Xbox 360 V.P. of Global Marketing Jeff Bell announced that over one million copies of Mass Effect were sold in its first three weeks. That's more than triple what the industry "insiders" figured.
Well, it might not be that bad, but they're going to have to slow that burn rate!
Product placement has been around as long as, well, as long as there have been products. Often times it's more effective than conventional advertising. Afterall, who wouldn't want to drink the same beer as our big or small screen hero? I myself have talked about the product placement in video games. Well here's the opposite.
 Now, first off, we have to agree that all things being equal, everyone has their own opinion on which console is the best. Myself, I think they all have admirable attributes and there is no clear winner. However, when it comes to sales...

With the holiday season over, and all the numbers in, Microsoft says they have now sold 17.7 million Xbox 360 units. Of course, 17.6 of them had the disc read error!
I wasn't sure if he could pull it off, but Santa apparently found a Pleo in his large sack of goodies for my 10 year-old daughter on Christmas morning (she was a very good girl - that was never in question). But is Pleo worth all the hype? Here's my hands-on review.
