Konami's top game music composer Akira Yamaoka was quoted in a German magazine as saying that the gameplay of Silent Hill 5 will more closely resemble Silent Hill 2 than the more recent installments in the series, regarding "the terms of the way the player is directed and the character's behavior." This will undoutably be cause for celebration among Silent Hill series fans, most of which agree that SH2 was the SH&%.

Yamaoka was quoted as saying that SH5 will be release for PS3 as well as Xbox 360.

Hard core Hill fans should also be pleased to hear that the gameplay will use the original camera style of earlier versions of the game, and not the over-shoulder point of view used in Silent Hill Origins for PSP.
